Easter

The weeks leading up to Easter often stretch your church's teams in ways few other seasons do. From worship and production to children’s ministry, hospitality, communications, and outreach, volunteers are giving more time and energy than usual.

Easter is deeply meaningful and important, but it is also demanding. There are extra rehearsals, longer weekends, fuller calendars, and a steady stream of details to manage.

But amid the preparation, Scripture offers something essential: encouragement and reassurance, not added pressure. We’ve worked to gather verses to help you shepherd your volunteers’ hearts during this busy season and remind them why their service matters. Hopefully, this encourages you and your volunteers as Easter approaches.

1. Galatians 6:9

“Let us not grow weary in doing good…”

Busy seasons can quickly lead to fatigue. Late-night rehearsals, back-to-back services, and last-minute adjustments can leave even the most committed volunteers feeling worn down.

This verse acknowledges a simple truth: doing good can be tiring. Yet it also carries a promise: there will be a harvest in due time. As leaders, remind your teams that God sees their perseverance. The fruit of Easter may not be immediate or fully visible, but God honors faithful endurance.

2. Colossians 3:23

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…”

In the rush of preparation, tasks can start to feel mechanical. Slides must be edited. Rooms must be set up. Schedules must be finalized. It’s easy for the mission to get lost in the momentum.

This verse gently re-centers volunteers on who they are ultimately serving. They are not just serving a service plan, a leader, or a checklist; they are serving the Lord Himself. Even the smallest tasks, like folding bulletins or greeting at a door, become sacred when done for Him.

3. 1 Corinthians 15:58

“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord…”

Much of Easter ministry happens behind the scenes. Hours of practice lead to a few moments on stage. Weeks of preparation culminate in a single weekend.

Paul reminds us that this work is not in vain. Planning, preparation, and practice are meaningful spiritual labor. When volunteers give themselves fully, they participate in something eternal. Encourage your teams by affirming that their unseen faithfulness carries eternal weight.

4. Luke 10:41–42

“You are worried and upset about many things…”

Jesus’ words to Martha feel especially relevant during Easter preparations. There are always many things competing for attention.

Notice that Jesus doesn’t dismiss the busyness, instead He gently redirects the heart. Volunteers are invited to serve from a place of peace, not pressure. As leaders, you can help cultivate this by modeling calm trust and by reminding your teams that being with Jesus matters more than flawless execution.

5. Psalm 127:1

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”

Easter success does not rest solely on volunteer effort. While preparation matters, transformation belongs to God.

This verse is freeing. It allows your teams to work diligently while also trusting God for the outcome. Attendance numbers, response moments, and life change are ultimately His work. We are simply to serve faithfully.

6. Mark 10:45

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”

Easter celebrates the ultimate act of sacrificial love, and when we look to His example, we see that Jesus Himself modeled servant leadership.

When volunteers serve guests, care for children, adjust sound levels, or arrive early to set up chairs, they reflect the heart of Christ. Their humble service embodies the Gospel message they are helping proclaim. Remind them that in serving others, they are walking in the footsteps of Jesus.

7. Hebrews 6:10

“God is not unjust; He will not forget your work…”

Behind-the-scenes ministry can sometimes feel unseen, but Scripture assures us that God does not overlook a single act of faithful service. Every hour given, every prayer prayed, every small act of obedience is remembered by Him. This truth can sustain volunteers when appreciation feels scarce or when results seem unclear.

8. Psalm 90:17

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands.”

This verse reads like a prayer for Easter week. It acknowledges our effort while asking God to establish it.

Encourage your teams to pray this together. Invite them to ask for God’s favor, not for perfection, but for lasting impact. God delights in taking ordinary faithfulness and producing extraordinary fruit.

Closing Encouragement

Before Easter arrives, take time to thank your volunteers. A personal note, a brief prayer, or a simple word of affirmation can go a long way. Let them know their service is seen, valued, and deeply meaningful.

This season may be busy, but it is also sacred. Volunteers are helping create space for people to encounter the hope of the resurrection. Their faithfulness matters more than they know.

At Ministry Brands, we are cheering you and your teams on. We are grateful for the ways you serve your communities, and we are praying for a fruitful Easter season for your church.

As you lead through these full weeks, keep pointing your volunteers back to the hope and purpose of Easter: Christ is risen. Because of that truth, no act of service given in His name is ever wasted.
