The Healthy Church Hub

Intro

In 1981, Love and Unity Christian Fellowship met for the first time with 5 adults and 6 children. Now, they have grown to nearly 3500 members and are working to serve and love the people of Compton in the inner city Los Angeles/South Bay area.

Angela Hill Goudy was one of those 6 children and has grown alongside the church now serving as the Executive Administrator at Love and Unity Christian Fellowship. For her, having the right software has not only simplified ministry, but it’s served as a tool to take the Gospel to her city and beyond.

 “Part of the Culture”

When asked how the church uses the software, Angela quickly replied, “We use it from the minute you walk in the doors of our church (and really before that with our website), during service, after service, and every day during the week.” Basically, there’s not a time that it’s not being utilized in some way or another.

On their website, the software makes it possible for people to access:

  • Giving links
  • First-time guest information
  • Forms
  • Follow-up requests
  • Event details
  • Prayer request submissions
  • And, information on their live television broadcasts

Angela went as far as to say, “[The software] is part of the bloodline and the culture at Love and Unity.” For their church, it’s people reaching out and doing the work, and it’s software fueling their mission along the way.

A City-Wide Impact

For Love and Unity Christian Fellowship, ministry happens beyond the walls of their church building. Angela explained, “This church was founded on outreach.”

Daily they’re sending teams out to knock on neighbors’ doors, serve the community, and share the Gospel. With their software as a tool, Angela said, “Tech takes over when our teams are out witnessing.”

Here are just a few ways they use the technology to minister to people inside and outside of their church:

  • When staff members connect with a new person, they use their phones to gather contact information and automatically send links to a welcome video and information about the church.
  • If someone wants to join the church, they have another QR code linking to information on what that means and how to do it.
  • After making a spiritual decision, the team uses the software to share information and follow up.
  • The team uses mass communication tools in the software to invite people to events.
  • Automatic workflows are in place to encourage people to take next steps.
  • They even run attendance reports to know who was and wasn’t at church so they can reach out to let people know they were missed.

Workflows, reports, and mass communication tools are all hosted in the same place making it quick and easy for staff to do it all.

A Tool To Help Your Ministry Grow

Along with serving at Love and Unity Christian Fellowship, Angela works as a church consultant, and over and over she points people to this software. She helps explain that not only does it reduce the number of apps and platforms churches use, but it’s much more cost-effective than people realize. Plus, in her words, “This platform is so user-friendly! Church workers get it quickly and newbies love it.”

So if you’re considering a new software solution, Angela would tell you, “Take a step and jump in. This platform can help you reach out, engage people, give them content, and make them feel loved and seen…it can help your ministry grow!”
